While Rock Paper Scissors is still my favorite Alice Feeney novel, Sometimes I Lie is a close second. It helped create a more robust story while also keeping it moving quickly. I appreciated the switching between different timelines and the inclusion of the diaries. ![]() This book WORKED! There were some parts that were harder to read if you’re a bit squeamish, but it wasn’t terribly gory. Sometimes, twists are predictable or so out of left field that it doesn’t even make sense. I feel like there were MULTIPLE twists that kept you guessing in the best way. She hit the ground running with Sometimes I Lie, and I am absolutely blown away. It is not even remotely fair that this was Alice Feeney’s debut novel. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it’s the truth? My Thoughts Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. ![]() She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea.
